June Recap

We took the opportunity this month to catch up with several young people who, with our support, have been attending their local gym.

Their feedback highlighted the positive impact regular exercise has had on their mental health and overall well-being:

  • “It’s helped a lot with my self confidence and managing emotions.”
  • “My moods feel more balanced.”
  • “I have more energy.”
  • “I feel much more confident in exercising but also going out and socialising.”
  • “It clears my mind and I feel more energetic.”

These testimonials underscore the transformative power of exercise and affirm our commitment to fostering a supportive environment for physical activity.

Here are a few more reasons why gym attendance is beneficial for well-being:

  • Reduces Stress and Anxiety: Exercise releases endorphins, which are natural mood lifters, helping to alleviate stress and anxiety.
  • Enhances Mood: Regular physical activity has been shown to improve mood and reduce feelings of depression.
  • Boosts Self-Esteem: Achieving fitness goals and pushing personal limits can significantly enhance self-confidence.
  • Improves Sleep: Regular exercise promotes better sleep patterns, leading to more restful and restorative sleep.
  • Fosters Social Connections: Gyms provide a social environment where individuals can connect with others who share similar health and fitness goals.
  • Increases Physical Health: Regular gym workouts help maintain a healthy weight, build muscle strength, and improve cardiovascular health.
